GREAT GIFT IDEA
Great Gift Idea
The youth still have some of those beautiful First Presbyterian Church – Bessemer Memory Books left. These books were sold at the last homecoming celebration downtown as a reminder of all those years of service, love, and ministry and in honor of those saints who blessed our lives there and are the roots of SVPC. What a special gift to give a loved one so they can enjoy the treasured memories of those people and days that God used to bring us to where we are today! Purchase yours for $40 for one and $50 for two of these one-of-a-kind treasures! Call the church office for more information.

Sounds like a great day to be a part of our new community!
Our children will meet before the parade at SVPC at 10:00 for play practice and lunch. The kids will get suited up and we will then head to the parade line-up about 12:30. After the post-parade festivities, we hope to make a visit to one of our members in Letson Farms.

ALL SAINTS DAY
All Saints Remembrance this Sunday
This Sunday we shall honor all our loved ones who joined the Church Triumphant in the past year. You see this list below of members of Shepherd of the Valley and also friends of our members.
In the Presbyterian tradition, when a Christian dies, we gather to celebrate the resurrection life of our Lord Jesus Christ in the life of our departed loved ones. All Saints Sunday does not so much emphasize the extraordinary achievements of a particular Christian as much as emphasizing the grace and work of the Lord in the lives of ordinary people. The real celebration regards the fact that by God’s Grace He has made us “saints.”
In our lives here, we are saints – “holy” is the meaning of the word “saint” because the Lord has called us, chosen us, and sanctified us both here and in the life to come. We believe that we are surrounded still by that “great cloud of witnesses” who have preceded us into our celestial home.
If you desire to remember a loved one who has died, we invite you to join us at prayer time around the Table of the Lord following the sermon. Come and share this time together.

You may comment and see others’ comments on the previous Sunday’s sermon. This email will only be sent to those who ask to be added to the group. Join the conversation!
