12 Very
truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing,
and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the
Father. (John 14:12)
Have
you truly said “yes” to God and “no” to the world? Is Jesus truly the Lord of your life? When you have allowed the Father to reign
over your life, you will receive an abundant life full of love and
blessings. Be prepared, that though He
watches over you, and will equip you to handle the sufferings that will come
your way, the enemy will come. The
mountaintop is a comfortable place to be, but when you belong to Him you know
that this is only a temporary place of comfort.
It is a time that He is preparing you to face what may come to you in
the valley. You will find yourself in
the desert. But always remember that He
is there with you.
When
is seems that the enemy is winning, we cannot do what Jesus did, because we are
not doing what Jesus did – pray.
Frequently Jesus would withdraw Himself to be in total communion with
The Father, coming back refreshed and refilled with the Holy Spirit. And while hanging on Calvary’s cross, what
did he do? He prayed to the Father for
the forgiveness of those who had caused the greatest agony and suffering ever
known to mankind.
When
we have true faith, we WILL want to follow the commandments that Jesus left
with his disciples. “Go and do what I have done.” Though not with us in his bodily form, He is
and will forever be with us in spirit. Are
we not all His disciples? What greater
things can you do than Jesus did?
Without Him – nothing, through Him, whatever you ask in His name; “And I will do whatever is asked in my name
so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.” Miracles are still witnessed; lives still
changed to be free from sin, blessings still come to those in need, when we
pray fervently and with boldness. The one thing that Christians can do is to
pray. We cannot physically perform the
miracles that Jesus did, but when we see and know that a situation can be
changed, one that will glorify our Father in Heaven; we need to be in
prayer. The old saying works, the
greatest battles can be fought on our knees!”
The Father is waiting. He knows
the needs before we send them up to Him.
He is waiting for us to be the vessels, the warriors, the saints, that
will take those battles to victory!
Through
our prayers, and our obedience to living our lives according to his will for
us, we will be a reflection of Jesus and we will do great things through the
Spirit that lives within us. If a man
is cold, give him your coat. If he is
hungry, give him food. The Father
expects nothing less.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, humble us to be better
servants for you. Help us when we fail
you by not having the faith to know that whatever we ask for in your name will
be granted unto us according to riches in Glory! Amen!
